White Water Rafting On The Athabasca River

As promised I write to you with my stories about our adventures whilst white water rafting down the Athabasca River!

This is also a chance for me to finally tell you that I made a YouTube channel!

Pause for reaction..

Now I am not the savviest person when it comes to my computer but I have been wanting to reach out in a much more personal platform, I always have so many photos and videos of our adventures and just simply couldn't think of how to share them with you! So with a little YouTube study and hours upon hours of fiddling around with iMovie - I attempted my first Video blog!

With that said lets get back to it!

Water Rafting is definitely not for the faint of heart although it wasn't as death defying as what I've seen nor heard about in previous experiences, it was still an adrenaline thrill and a beautifully breath taking way to see the heart and soul of the Canadian Rockies!

Each rafting trip is scaled in terms of difficulty and of course the impact of the river you descend, our floating adventures down the Athabasca River was graded a level 2. Hence why you didn't need to wear a helmet if you didn't want to.. Sorry Mum! BUT they did provide a wet suit, water resistant shoes, a life jacket and an enthusiastic tour guide. Which in our groups case had a tendency to liked to sing show tunes to us... giving an European 'Le Boat' canal ride a run for its money!

Our water gushing ride was roughly about 2.5 hours long and for my particular experience didn't cost a thing, as it was a complementary bonus activity given to all the employees at my work. Thank you Becker Chalets! #shamelessplug

Although, with a little research I believe if you wanted to book it is roughly priced around $88.00 CAD per person!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this amazing adventure and would recommend it to anyone willing to quite literally get soaked from head to toe in an effort to witness more of Jasper's local wildlife and stunning scenery!

I hope you enjoy my first rookie YouTube video - stay tuned for more!

Until next time,

- Liz x
